The red meat is sort of a double edge sword when it comes to your health. On the one hand, when you eat red meats you benefit from the iron that acts like an energy booster and helps you to get through your day. On the other hand, red meats contain high levels of fat and is considered one of the foods that cause fatigue. The fats in red meat are difficult for the body to break down, so as a result you feel more weighed down soon after you consume them. In order to break down red meats and access the nutrients within, the entire body needs to expend more energy to begin the digestion process, and this leaves you feels tired and drained as a result.
Many people mistake the benefits of pasta, assuming just because they are high in carbs that you will enjoy a nice jolt of energy. According to studies conducted by Web-MD, consuming pasta causes an immediate rise in blood sugar, which is usually followed by a sudden drop in insulin levels. That huge fall is what causes weakness and fatigue after you eat the pasta. The high sugar and flour content will bring on a period of drowsiness that can be extreme in many cases. Trying to fight off the bouts of weakness with caffeine only exacerbates the problem.
